Supermarket Street Sweep!

Supermarket Street Sweet #6
51st place out of 201
Prize haul:
Something like 15 Gu packets
A Bern helmet
A Flickr Pro account
A bike fitting from Savvy Bike (who the fuck are they?)
A bag of De la Paz coffee beans
A one month supply of Pop Chips
I also drank like 7 beers and got some oatmeal cookies.
I spent like $15-$20 on groceries, registration was free. Yeah, it was worth it.
Also, notice that Errol only has a big chainring . . .

Of recent note
CHEESE TOUR!
In order of awesome:
1. Cowgirl Creamery, Pt. Reyes Station - A FANTASTIC selection of cheeses and nice people to guide you through tastings. The also do cheese tasting classes on Fridays, I believe.
2. Nicasio Valley Cheese Co. - A tiny operation with very tasty cheese and a big window to see the cheese making in action. The one lady behind the register was very cool and walked us through a tasting of all the cheeses. They also happened to have a fall pumpkin patch party thing with a hay maze and a giant inflatable Jurassic Park slide that the lady let me ride for free.
3. Marin French - Pretty decent bries, but nothing that really blew my mind, except for the fact that they don't really seem to care/notice if you take 14 samples of each cheese. It's set amongst a picturesque, if not somewhat generic, picnic area with a fake pond and some weird sadistic spinning iron wheel things that can easily crush infants. If the wind is blowing from the wrong direction, this place smells like poo.
4. Spring Hill Cheese - The cheese was decent, but nothing special. We did get to dig our own potatoes though.
5. McClelland's - Tour of a dairy farm. Not much to taste, but I got to let cows lick my fingers. Their pumpkin patch extravaganza was pretty dumb, but I got to pet some goats.
6. Petaluma Creamery store - A small ugly store that didn't have any pizza, as promised, but let us taste all of their middle of the road cheeses.
Also, the KOA in Petaluma FUCKING RULED! They have a giant bouncy pillow, a petting zoo, a pool, a hot tub, some little pedal cart things, the dude who works there didn't care that we were smashing a log in the middle of the driveway, and they sell beer. Fuck yes!

The whole cycling crew, ten deep! |
Marie's Farm and the whole trip in general: Hydrogen explosion, geese that go apeshit every fifteen minutes from 7am-4pm, mastodon with disco ball, delicious food cooked on a wood burning stove that also warmed the house, a keg of Sierra Nevada, barn dance, artichoke bread, hydrogen powered truck, mud, a crazy awesome dude named Pierre, tons of love, and other stuff.

Trickster Treat 5!
This dude was dressed as a zombie and he won
I was dressed as Harry Bacon, former Kentucky senator from the 30's who was found in the Alps with a knife in his head, two years after disappearing. The murder was never solved. And I did not win.

Recently in Bicycles + Soon in Bicycles
RECENTLY
I hit all checkpoints and cupcake pit stops (including a bonus pit stop at Mission Minis for six cupcakes), and completed the sugar climb bonus; they were out of frosting for the frosting bonus. The diabeetus test checkpoint was my favorite! The format was kind of awkward, with objectives of both time and points, but the overall route was great. I was 20th across the finish line, but I have no idea what my adjusted time was, nor what my points total was. I think I came in 1st in the afterparty beer drinking contest that I ran in my own head.
October 8 - Shaping SF food history tour
My first Chris Carlson tour and it was fantastic! Did you know that Mission Bay used to be full of poo and dead animal parts? Me neither.
Saw some old faces, met some new ones, helped some kids fix a flat, danced like the fuck. My life is markedly better with Bike Party in it.
Met mostly new faces, drank beer, saw a few dozen cops haul some kid away, and ate burritos, pizza, & black bean burgers.
I also won $3 betting on gold sprint races:
SOON
No wandering, no getting lost, just mashing. Easily one of my favorite races in San Francisco.
October 21 - 24 - Marin/Sonoma Cheese tour!
Day 1, Friday October 21 - leave SF around 4pm or 5pm, and camp out at Samuel P. Taylor that night. We'd be arriving in the dark/dusk, so lights will be imperative.
Day 2, Saturday, October 22 - eat lots of oatmeal and then ride out along Pt. Reyes-Petaluma road and stop off at various cheesemakers for free cheese and maybe even a tour or two! From there we could continue east or potentially head north. If we head north, we could go to Santa Rosa and camp out at Spring Lake Park on Saturday night and drink lots of beers at the Russian River and Third Street breweries.
Day 3, Sunday, October 23 - Go for a morning hike to and swim in the lake over in neighboring Annadel State Park, eat more oatmeal, and then either west to Bodega or east to Sonoma wine country. I'm leaning more towards east into wine country, as I'd really like to guerrilla camp in a vineyard on this trip. We could also drink lots of free wine with our cheeses out there, I'm sure.
Day 4, Monday, October 24 - Eat oatmeal, head home, eat cheese along the way, maybe stop off at Iron Springs brewery in Fairfax for some end of trip brewskies.
November 4-6 - Cyclecide's Pedal Monster
This year they're hosting a pedal regatta and I'm going to enter that shit! For reference:

Expensive ass Predator soundtrack
The Predator soundtrack goes for $100 these days. Who'd have thought?
And, because this link will surely die soon, as somebody is bound to snatch up that rare gem in a hurry, here's a screenshot:

First race in WAY too long!
Came in 6th out of 25 (and was pretty stoked on that)
